The youngest players in Sogn and Fjordane Football Federation help children in Hue.
Since 2011 the youngest players (from 6 – 10 years) participated in the cooperation project “Children help Children”, and supported Football for All in Vietnam and NFFs project in Hue.
The concept of the tournament, in which the joy and fun football activities are combined with a focus on good values and attitudes, has contributed to Vietnam with small and larger activities, like selling homemade cakes, organized lotteries, competitions, sales of second hand clothes and goods etc.
Sunday the 27th of August the whole province had full focus on the cooperation: absolutely all teams in the whole province should organize one activity. The most important was not about how much money each team could fundraise, but that all children engage themselves for children who has not got the same opportunities as themselves. The commercial business partners were asked to contribute ca. 2.600 Vietnam Dong per goal scored in all 8 tournaments organized this day. In 2017 the result was close to amazing 70 million Vietnam Dong, which are earmarked for the club in Hong Tien and all nearby clubs.
In addition, Selje IL, which is a friendship club with Dang Dung in Quang Dien district, has organized several fundraising activities throughout the year, and this has generated over16 million Vietnam Dong. Over the 7 years the Football Federation in Sogn and Fjordane has cooperated with FFAV, close to 650 million Vietnam Dong has been fundraised
Mr. Anders Krystad, Special Advisor for FFAV says: « We are so grateful for this – this has given thousands of children the possibility to play football and learn important life skills through playing football, compete in life skills competitions and just learn through playing. The young players in Sogn and Fjordane are living proof of the solidarity within the global football family, and we are forever thankful. The name “Children help Children” is spot on.”
“The FFAVs Friendship Club concept is also important. It brings the children in clubs in Norway and Vietnam closer together. We want to thank all of them, and hope that more clubs and Football Federations on provincial level will join. You can make a difference, for children and youth who have very little.”-------
