The story: Football and Lifeskills

Let’s enjoy the story of Bùi Nam Anh – a kid player from Tran Quoc Toan primary school club about his feeling and memories in FFAV Cup 2015.

When I was in 1st and 2nd grade, I saw the students in my school playing football happily and excitedly on either practice sessions or matches.

I thought I was too young and weak to sign in the school football team. Until I was in 3rd  grade, I took all my courage to ask my PE teachers to join the football team. I have been practicing and playing for 2 years so far. At first, I did not know what football is.

Through practice sessions, I gradually knew about the football rules, how to kick the ball, etc. Besides, the teachers usually organized games with useful life-skills integration for us. Moreover, we also had chances to participate in football tournaments such as friendly competitions with other schools in the city or FFAV Cup in the summer of 2015.

Especially the FFAV Cup 2015 left the most memorable memories in me. I’m the only son in my family, all of my personal activities are done and helped by my mother or my grandmother. When I first heard about the plan to take part in FFAV Cup, I was really worried because I had never stayed somewhere long without my mother.

However, on the 1st day of the Cup, we stayed in a hotel where we learned how to do our own laundry, take care of each other while being away from home, etc. Athough me and my teammates really missed our families and just wanted to home, we tried to get over it by talking to each other. In daylight, I played football with other teams as well as the Laotian team. I made new friends. We also joined in activities such as drawing, dancing, etc which helped us to grow stronger, quicker, more skillful and more confident.

After 4 days of FFAV Cup, it was time to say goodbye. I was so sad because I had to leave my new friends. Now, after school time, I am able to help my mom with some household chores like washing my clothes, cleaning up my room, tidying up my study corner, etc.

I am so grateful to my teachers to help me join such a great activity. Hopefully, I will have more opportunities like this in the future. I love football because it makes me healthy and stronger to study and help my family in some ways.
