The first club fundraising workshop

Increasing club self-funding is one of the focuses of FFAV in the handover period where all related activities will be self-implemented and self-financed by the schools and community. With that aim, the fundraising group was established and debuted with the first fundraising workshop for clubs in Phong Dien district. This workshop was conducted to build capacity for clubs in fundraising and spread the self-financed football club model.

In the workshop, representatives from 14 football clubs in the district had a chance to actively exchange experiences, share challenges and find solutions to overcome the challenges with support from the fundraising group.

Knowing that most clubs have a misunderstanding about “fundraising’’ and “asking for money’’, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, FFAV Vice Director, distinguished the difference between the 2 concepts and presented the fundraising cycle which can help participants understand what steps are commonly missed in their fundraising efforts.

The fundraising matrix session presents a useful tool for clubs to research, get to know more about partners and identify a suitable approach to work with potential sponsors. Besides, the fundraising package has been introduced as a good reference for clubs in their fundraising efforts.

The first workshop in Phong Dien created a platform for sharing, discussion and learning; and above that, we hope this can inspire clubs with fundraising activities and ideas with a final aim to maintain the fun and useful playground for children.
