Goal Master Training Workshop 2018

From March 13-15, 2018, FFAV and Women Win successfully organized a Goal Master Training Workshop for 33 Goal facilitators in Hue province. Ms. Phan Thi Thu Huong, Head of FFAV Program Department, and representatives from Women Win, Ms.Yvonne Henry and Ms. Nicole Matuska, facilitated the training course.

Participating in the training, Goal facilitators learned about the structure and content of a Goal Coach Training Workshop co- developed by Women Win and Goal programme partners. They also explored various Women Win training methodologies including adult education, as well as participatory and play based teaching approaches. Through three days of activities, they became familiar with the Goal Programme, including the programme’s history, content, implementation and the different stakeholders currently involved. In the final session, the participants reflected deeply on personal facilitation and training skills, and shared best practices and failures with a global network of peers.

Rules such as “always move forward,” “Play and learn,” “Professional and flexible adapt to the context,” and “team work,” were created by the participants themselves and were followed strictly. Moreover, they were taught the Management and Evaluation Tool to examine the Goal program’s impact on adolescent girls.

Ms. Uyen, a Goal facilitator from Phu Thuong 1 School, Phu Vang district shared after the workshop: “I feel so lucky to be a part of this training course. I have learnt so much useful information and skills to apply not only to Goal program but also to my teaching methods at school. My school’s Goal club is on the preparation period. I’m so eager to meet my students and teach them what I have learnt.”

Equipping young girls with knowledge and skills and empowering individuals to develop society in this modern world are Goal’s program missions.  And everyone has agreed that sports, especially football is the great tool to train leadership skills for girls.
