Football exchange tournament for pupils, parents and teachers at Tran Quoc Toan Primary School, Phong Dien District
In the morning of 21 May 2017, the first football exchange tournament for pupils, parents and teachers was held at Tran Quoc Toan Primary School, Phong Dien district. At the same time, a sharing session about methods to involve the parents’ participation and support was organized.
As soon as we stepped into the yard, we heard a lot of laughs, ecouragments among teachers, students even parents. This is not merely a football exchange tournament. Particularly, to raise fund for the event, the teachers and parents themselves set up stalls selling ice cream, soft drinks, fruits, and profits from these stalls would be donated to the club’s football fund so the club could maintain and organize such activities for the children. A donation box was put in the path to the pitch for parents who want voluntarily to support the school in finance. All the contribution, no matter how it is big or small, is considered as the interest and devotion for the school in general and the club in particular.
Specially, the football exchange tournament involved active parent’s participation in the activity. Both parents and teachers become salespeople. Some parents were very busy but they came early for logistics then went to work. This time parents officially played important role on the green field. They even accompanied their children at every stage of the event. There is no doubt about the importance of parents in maintaining football club’s activities in particular and the extracurricular activities at school in general.
Today, off the pitch, parents were salepeople who wanted to raise funds for children’s activities; on the pitch, they were football players who shared happiness and sadness with their children. This event is one of the reasons why Tran Quoc Toan primary school always receives great support from parents of students.
Knowing that the main funds for children’s football activities from the project is gradually decrease, the club also wants to help other clubs to be self-active in finance and mobilize additional funds for them, the school’s board held a fundraising sharing session. Attending the session, Mr. Anders Krystad, Southeast Asia Special Advisor, said: Thua Thien Hue is the leading province for grassroots football and football activities, especially, women’s football. I am very happy that activities have recently increased significantly despite the decrease of funding. It is positively proved that we can completely overcome the difficulty. ”
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the teachers, children now can play football during the weekends, parents better understand their children as well as realize the impact of grassroots football then they can support the club more. With achievements and enthusiasm for the development of children, Tran Quoc Toan club will keep the success not only in football but also other fun, healthy and useful activities for children.
